Meet Councilwoman Rita Rogers
Rita Rogers has served on the Perris City Council since 1999. During that time period, she has served as Mayor Pro Tem 7 times.
Councilmember Rogers presently serves as Chair of the
Executive Committee for Western Riverside Council of Governments, Commissioner for March Joint Powers Authority Board, Founded the Perris Cops and Clergy, and on the Parkview Hospital African American Advisory Board.
Ms. Rogers has previously served on the Perris Chamber of Commerce Board, Southwest Autism Task Force, Val Verde School District Advisory Council, and the Southwest Families, Youth and Health Task Force.
Ms. Rogers retired as the Inland Empire Division Director of the March of Dimes in 2012 after 15 years and raising over $10,000,000.
Councilmember Rogers has been honored by the NAACP, National Congress of Black Women, the National Association of Female Executives, Southern California Academic Center of Excellence on Youth Violence Prevention, UCR, Forbes Alliance, Society for the Thinking Women, Published in 2000 Notable American Women, and as the Grand Marshall of the Black History Parade.
Councilmember Rogers is most importantly a willing vessel for God. She believes communities are changed through the partnerships between government, school administrators, business leaders, law enforcement and the clergy.
Ms. Rogers is the proud mother of two adult children, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Rita's Priorities for Perris
It has been an honor to serve you as your Councilmember. I have always prioritizes the needs of Perris
residentsand worked hard to built a brighter future for our city.
Perris has a balanced budget and $39.8M in reserves. We also paid off our $14M pension
liability. Public Safety has always been my top priority.
During my tenure l have brought thousands of jobs and hundreds of businesses to Perris.
Our Live Well Perris Program has received regional and national awards. I serve on the
Park & Recreation Committee and am proud of all the recent park updates and the
Community Garden.
I am the Chair of Western Riverside Council of Governments, a Commissioner for March
Joint Powers Authority and the Founder of Perris Cops & Clergy. I have lived in Perris
for 48 years, the proud mother of 2 grown children and grandmother of 9.
My key focus will continue to be public safety, business and job development,
community engagement, homelessness and youth programs.
